Spiritual connections and inner work. And so I'm super excited to share this time and this space with Matt today. Matt, welcome.

Thank you for having me. You're welcome. So to be here likewise. Um, so we'll jump right in. What marked the beginning of your spiritual journey? Gosh, that's a big question. So I was raised Catholic, and so spirituality was always a part of my life in one form or another. Uh, my mother would always say, you know, look outside of the trees, there's God inside there, and you know, God's in nature.

So I always had an open, open-minded household that I was raised in. But inside the religion, I, as I grew up, I thought, eh, there's gotta be more to this Jesus guy than what meets the eye. And around [00:03:00] 18, I would say that was probably Mark the beginning of my spiritual search or what, what spirituality looked like for me.

Um, and so I started devouring books. I would, it's almost like one book led to the next book. Um, as I started to talk with my friends about what I was, you know, thinking about or how I thought about a certain aspect of Christianity or religion, um, I. It was almost like I would meet someone that would introduce me to a, a book, which would lead to the next book.

And so it started to just devour books over the course of the next year or two. Um, and so, you know, it would get to the point where I would be reading a book and I would almost intuit what the response might be of those books or how that might be answered. Um, and there was a certain amount of intuition and in my heart I kind of just had this knowing of

Huh? There's, there's, uh, just knowing that there's an, how do I say that? There's something [00:04:00] bigger. Yeah. You're a teenager at this point. Yeah, exactly. So I'm a teenager. I was 17, 18, getting into college. Um, my roommate at the time was a pretty, um, he was very Christian and so we would have, uh, an interesting, uh, debates back and forth, which certainly helped me to kind of formulate my, my beliefs.

And, uh, I think it allowed him to maybe open up his perspective of things as well. So it was a good, uh, a good relationship to have. And, uh, and it's evolved. I mean, it's, it's been something that I've taken extremely seriously in my life and is pretty much the foundation of my life, um, that only grows deeper with every day.

Hmm. Now, when you were young, was it that your family was religious or. , not so much like for me. I also grew up Catholic, but I would not call my family religious. I was the one who wanted to be in church. Yeah. I was the one that felt really connected and my mom would go to mass and stuff, [00:05:00] but my sisters, my siblings, they had nothing.

They didn't want anything to do with it. So I'm curious for you, is this sort of part of the fabric of your family or No, it was always more your own . I, my family, they wanted to instill the values, uh, that came along with religion, the, uh, moral and uh, moral compass and the values that, that, um, Catholicism had.

And so I, I think that they sort of ramped up their, um, you know, going to church and all that whenever I was young, just to help kind of instill that more. And I went through Catholic private, uh, private Catholic, um, Uh, elementary school, high school and college actually. So my parents weren't overly religious.

Um, they were much more spiritual than religious, but going to those schools, you can't help but mm-hmm. , you know, learn a thing or two about Yeah. The religion, right. So I mean, I do know you , so you're not Catholic at this [00:06:00] point anymore.

So obviously something shifted, some level of awakening, what happened? So, as I was saying with, with all the books that I was reading, I came across, um, a book called Autobiography of the Yogi. And it was almost like each book kind of led to this book. And as I was reading this book and spoke very deeply to me and I read, uh, there was a chapter, uh, called Kriya Yoga.

And at this point I've been dabbling with meditation and, and, um, trying kind of different practices and techniques to kind of deepen my spirituality. And when I read this, this chapter on Kriya Yoga, it was a literal soul feeling of like, this is it, this is my path. Both, um, my buddy Greg and I both felt that way about, um, about this book and that particular, um, chapter and that path specifically.

So from that point on, I started to kinda devote myself more and more to that specific Kriya yoga path, [00:07:00] which has its own line of, uh, specific meditation techniques and practices, which I continue to this day. Hmm. Yeah. So how would you describe Kriya? Because you know, when we hear yoga, especially in the West, and I've talked about this in other episodes too, um, Where we hear yoga people picture asana.

Mm-hmm. like the physical movement of the body in a class that unfortunately in the west is mostly divorced from spiritual connection, but that's not actually what yoga is. Asana is like one Yeah. Piece of, you know, yoga tradition. So what is Kriya? Yeah, so Kriya is, um, it's both a, a path that has a lineage of particular gurus and masters, but it's also a practice.

Of utilizing the energy in the body and directing it into the spine. And so this technique, uh, of basically channeling your energy, focusing it out of external sense perceptions, [00:08:00] and bringing that focus and energy inward to then spiritualize it and to bring it into the spine and to essentially, uh, ascend and to deepen your own.

Uh, Yourself and to awaken spiritually. Yeah. So this energy that you're talking about, for those who listening, you may know it as the Kundalini mm-hmm. , right? The life force energy that is within each of us. The idea or the understanding is that this is really all held at the base of the spine. Right. And as we, uh, essentially ignite our life force, and as we connect spiritually and as we heal, uh, past traumas, release old belief systems, subconscious programming, all these sorts of things, that energy is allowed to flow right through the energy centers or the chakras.

Mm-hmm. , uh, within the body. And as you, you know, accurately described, when the kundalini is allowed to flow through the channel of your spine, okay? Um, you can reach higher states of consciousness because your own life force energy can go to your heart or your [00:09:00] throat, or your third eye or your crown. And this is how we can connect to

Higher consciousness. Yeah, exactly. Mm-hmm. . And so with Kriya, uh, you were talking about this, but it is both a philosophy, I guess you could call it that. Sure. And a very physical, I mean part honestly, yoga, not dis fix it as the science, right. As in practice. Mm-hmm. of, uh, breathing techniques, things like that.

Moving the energy through your body. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And so with that, it is a practice that I take very seriously and has been a direct directly helped me transform as a person internally, uh, with, you know, how I interact with people, with how I interact with my children, with how I practice business.

Um, because whenever you're going deep inside yourself, you're doing, whether it's kriya or meditation in general, any sort of inner work. You're expanding your awareness, [00:10:00] um, and you, you improve your sensitivities to subtleties of both energy and perception of all different types. And so that helps you to move about the world in a very different way where you are aware of maybe how you ought to interact this way versus maybe an old pattern.

You're breaking some of those old patterns that you may have. . It may have done, which were more reaction based, and now you're giving your life more intention and awareness. And so you choose things a little bit differently and your life begins to really open up in a beautiful way. Yeah, and I do want to hear about some of those examples, but really this conversation is one of Mind, body, spirit.

Um, I think, and I've talked about this in other episodes, but I think in spirituality and spiritual practice, there's a lot of this idea of. Ascension or connecting with spirit and learning to channel and being a medium and these sorts of things which have us in our [00:11:00] higher chakras. Mm-hmm. . Yeah. A third eye crown and in many ways can keep us sort of out of the world, but true ascension.

Our true spiritual ascension is physical. Yeah. Because we are souls. Infinite that came into a body to have a life experience. Right. Um, That is the spiritual journey. We've got all these spiritual people trying to get out of their bodies all the time. Mm-hmm. for some reason, like they want to become a soul again, which you will do when you die.

But spiritual ascension is actually in many ways the opposite of that. It's the coming into the body. It's bringing more of your higher self, your soul, your source energy, your who you what you are, right? Yeah. Into the physical body. And so the practice of kriya in particular, Knows this, this is front and center, right?

Which is that your physical body needs to be prepared to hold more of your light, your frequency, your energy that you are, right? Right. And so the practices [00:12:00] of kriya are really about how do I prepare my body and specifically my nervous system to support. That, right? Mm-hmm. . So we're having a conversation here that is very much about mind body.

The body part is the one that can get tricky with spiritual communities. Sure. And the spirit itself. Yeah. Yeah. So that reminds me that, um, one of the gurus in the lineage of the, uh, of kriya yoga, uh, because as most, if not all yoga traditions get passed down from guru to disciple. . So Lahiri Mahasaya , who was around in the 19th century, he said that the highest path of yoga is not to go out into the mountains and move to the Himalayas or go to a retreat all the time or get away from the world. Um, and even as you just said, be in the world, but not of the world. Right? And so you are being able to, be in the world and have kids, and have a schedule, and have a business, or have a career, [00:13:00] but also have that sacred time for yourself to develop yourself spiritually and implement that into your day to day is, I would say a lot more challenging, uh, than just retreating to the Himalayas and being by yourself where there's no triggers, let the world be a catalyst to help you evolve that much faster. Yeah. You know, the hero's journey, where oftentimes a piece of that is to go and retreat. Mm-hmm. . Yeah. Your own way to go to the mountains to be on your own. And for me, I mean, since 2020 it's been a lot of that, um, this space of going within with kind of being alone and these sorts of things, and.

The true work is, and you know, you think about Jesus and many other masters, eventually they leave that time, that period, whatever, that was the incubation period. And then to go out in the world and do their work. Um, myself, I'm definitely in that phase at this moment, and I've had the wonderful opportunity to spend this weekend with you and your family and to actually be in [00:14:00] that, to see like, oh, this is what that looks like.

You know, the spiritual journey or . Being aware, being conscious, whatever, with a whole bunch of kids running around . Yeah. And a wife and a house that needs to be cleaned and you know, these sorts of things. And it's like, yeah, that's the work. Yeah. Yeah. And it's, you know, whenever you have a spiritual awakening or whenever you are going deeper and starting to ponder these questions more deeply, I think that incubation phase of, of going within and, and being able to have time to yourself long periods of time.

It's important to let all of that manifest and come, come, come about and blossom. Uh, but then, you know, at some point, especially in my culture today, the rubber's gonna meet the road and you're gonna be faced with challenges. And then that's where you have to say, okay, well am I gonna implement what I've learned and, and who I'm becoming?

Or are we just gonna go back to the old habits and, and, and triggers and let that take over? Mm-hmm. . [00:15:00] So can you remember or think about any moments of awakening or I guess another way of saying it, uh, dark nights for you, , where things really shifted. You're like, oh God, now I see the world differently, or I was challenged or tested, or anything like that.

Sure. So I think I still have those times, but I think they are, I don't have one single period that was really my dark night of the soul where things were coming crumbling down on me. What it's been is more of an, a deepening of awareness of, uh, and, and experiences that come about in day-to-day life that are, I don't wanna say negative, but you know, challenges, obstacles, and navigating those sometimes successfully and sometimes not successfully.

And learning about those, um, I. So I can't say that I've had one heavy, [00:16:00] you know, negative experience where I was just down and I came and I came through. It was more like, uh, different sets of setbacks and failures and challenges and obstacles that were just sort of part of my day to day. But it was in all areas.

It was through, you know, school was something that never came, . Terribly easy to me. So I had to work through changes hard, uh, to get through it or, um, you know, I've had challenges with relationships in the past and, and navigating those or, uh, you know, with kids, you know, kids are always , you know, a challenge.

They're a joy and a challenge, right? So, um, it's a lot of, it's been just been kind of an ongoing, uh, practice. And the, the deeper that I go, the, the more I see and, and what those catalysts, I like to call 'em catalysts because it's an opportunity for transformation. And I see those more and more every day.

And the, the differences now, you know, uh, I'm most of [00:17:00] the time utilizing them to see, okay, as a mirror, like, okay, this is something I need to work on. How can we, you know, move past this and integrate this and become better? Yeah. Um, I like the term catalyst too. It's one that you and I use a lot. We have similar language there.

For those of you that are listening, like, what's a catalyst and can I have that in my life? Well, I mean, if you're being triggered by anything in life, there's your catalyst . Exactly. Um, your boss requiring you to submit your work earlier, your kid's yelling at you, your wife, whatever. Those are all catalyst.

Mm-hmm. , they're all opportunities for your spiritual growth. If you're feeling triggered in life, that's the universe saying, here's your lesson, right? Mm-hmm. . I don't know. Would it be true then for you to say that maybe you haven't had super dark nights or whatever because you've always been spiritually, uh, I don't know if aware is the correct word, but at least you consciously decided to have that as part of your life to be present in your spiritual growth.

Yeah, and I'm [00:18:00] not here to say that. Like spiritually inclined, I guess is the way I say it. Yeah, I think that's a perfect way to say it. Spiritually inclined. Um, You know, I don't have it all figured out. I'm, you know, that that's, this is, uh, an ongoing process for me every single day. But I had the benefit of being raised in a household where, uh, God was spoken about frequently and openly, and spirituality was, you know, was spoken about a lot and.

Yeah. And so I grew up in a household where that was an ongoing open topic with no, you know, restrictions or feeling guilty about anything or, you know, nothing off limits. I was always an open dialogue and so I always had a relationship with God in some form or another. Uh, even in my mind, just conversationally it was, he was always, God was always in the background.

And so I, I think that was, um, a huge part of the reason why I. that I maybe haven't had some tumultuous [00:19:00] experience, um, that I felt like I couldn't get out of because it's just, uh, God's all, I know that God's always present. Mm-hmm. . Yeah. And I think for a lot of people, , well, there's this belief that well, And probably there's truth to this, that the human experience is full of suffering and it mm-hmm.

which it is actually. Yeah. When you are divorced from Yeah. You know, you can call it god source oneness. You know, when you're actually living this three D life down here, getting mad about everything that's happening, feeling like, oh my God, I'm a victim. I'm a victim. I'm a victim. Then yeah, life will trigger things for you to remember that that's not actually true.

So some people, a lot of people on the spiritual path, The path actually begins with some sort of dark night, some major shocking event. You lose a job, somebody dies. Um, you feel like you don't know who you are anymore. For me, I mean, I've always been very spiritual, but I definitely had a dark night in 2018 where I like moved across the country and changed my entire life, and [00:20:00] I was like, and left the church.

My identity. A big piece. Mm-hmm. shifted. Basically overnight. And I didn't know what to do about it, and I was really a mess. But for me, that was a catalyst to really go within and go deep. And the thing is, , if you've been given these catalysts, these opportunities, a dark night or maybe a shadow , a cloudy day,

And you start to ignore it and ignore it. And ignore it and ignore it. And these things can really build because your higher self, uh, is trying to guide you, right? Or shake something up or change something. And so, Um, I think a lot of times we sort of glorify this dark night, but maybe sometimes that isn't necessary on one's path when they're open.

Sure, yeah. And you know, it's the, the, if, if I've learned anything, it's that the world that we're in right now offers any experience that you want. Right. And we get more of what we focus on where, uh, [00:21:00] if we we're focusing on , Negative things and negative circumstances of being a victim, we're gonna get more of that.

Yeah. So I'm interested in you sharing too. So you're a practicing chiropractor, correct? Yep. And, uh, a fitness coach. Mm-hmm. , and it might be interesting, uh, well, let me put it this way. People listening may have a particular perception of what that looks like, right? Um, maybe as very physical adjustment, this kind of thing.

But they might be listening to you going, wait a second, , this doesn't sound like my chiropractor, or it doesn't sound like my. Uh, fitness coach. So I'm curious why chiropractic? How did you get there and then how do you practice it? How do you understand this and the work that you're doing, um, as a coach right now?

Sure. Well, how I got into it is I will try to keep the story short. It could be also be a long story, but I'll try to keep it brief. So my dad was super into health and fitness, so we had an elaborate gym in our, in our basement. So he was raised in that kind of healthy environment. Uh, started [00:22:00] lifting weights at a young age and he taught me, you know, health about lifting weights and fitness and, and things like that.

So, um, it was always an important part of my life. I started reading nutrition labels on my own and like middle school and reading muscle and fitness magazines and all that kind of stuff. And I was super interested in it and devouring, you know, everything that I could on health and fitness and nutrition.

So, um, when I went to college, I started, I entered as a dietetics major. Which I quickly realized was more of a mainstream medicine approach to health versus actually helping what one, uh, helping people reverse any illness, which was my goal was reversing illness. Um, so I went to my friend Greg's mom, and, and, and I was telling her about this and she said, I'll go see Dr.

Weiner downtown. And he was, he's a chiropractor and nutritionist. And so this was one of those meetings, uh, maybe the first time in my life where I knew something big was gonna happen before I even . Went to this appointment, and sure enough, this was a really [00:23:00] interesting, um, meeting. As soon as, or I should say to me, it was like a meeting, it was an actual doctor's appointment, , but it was like, it was like two souls connecting on a very deep level.

I hadn't met this guy before. We, uh, instantly doped deep, uh, weaving and medicine and spirituality and, and so, uh, I, I spoke with him. My excuse to go see him was allergies, which I did have. And he did help me significantly with that, by the way. Um, but, uh, he, I told him my situation with, you know, dietetics, I'm not sure what I wanted to do.

And he said, oh, go to chiropractic school. That way you can implement nutrition or whatever else you want to do, and, uh, and you'll have the authority to, to do that, to practice how you want. And I thought, well, what a great idea. Um, and as I mentioned before with Autobiography of the Yogi, he's the one who introduced me to that book.

So my spiritual path and my career path. all were understood with one man in one meeting in, you know, 20 minutes. [00:24:00] And so that was a, a really interesting time. And so from that day forward, it was like the floodgates for that, uh, path of my life just opened up. I immediately, I went back to Greg's mom. She's like, oh, go see Terry Gallant down the way.

And I went to another chiropractor, Terry Gallant, and she. Something about the paradigm of chiropractic and, and how that works. How the nervous system is influenced by the, by minor movements of the spine that occur, you know, every single day of just living life, uh, called subluxations. And, uh, and if, you know, if you don't get your subluxations corrected, well that can create dis-ease in the body, and that's what the chiropractor, um, helps with is.

It's removing subluxation, allowing the nervous system to flow properly. That way you can have optimal health, uh, in your life. And so, um, it was, uh, I had to finish college. I was a freshman in college at this point, so I had to finish college and then start chiropractic school. And, you know, we're talking eight additional years until I was actually [00:25:00] a chiropractor.

But, um, this was an instance where, uh, you know, although the goal was . Was far out. I knew this is what I, this is my path and my purpose. Mm-hmm. . Yeah. And we've had conversations before, and you were kind of alluding to this here, um, but the marriage or the intersection between medicine and spirituality, because.

My impression is that this is really important to you. Yeah. Um, and you mentioned it a little bit about this is one of the openings, I guess with chiropractic and the work that you do now. Well, you are a chiropractor, so you're doing that, but your coaching business mm-hmm. Um, you also sort of have this medicine and spirituality focus.

Yeah, for sure. As I said before, you know, all transformation starts in the mind and one of my big jobs, probably the biggest job for me as a chiropractor and especially a coach, is to [00:26:00] be attuned to how the person is speaking. Um, and as along with the habits that they're doing, you know, of, uh, throughout their lifestyle.

And is that in alignment with the outcome that they want? I. To become better, to transform their health, to improve their life in some way. And so my job is to coach them to recognize what they're reflecting back at me and to kind of help them pivot in a way that's gonna suit them better through changing, uh, or helping them to see maybe new perspectives and beliefs that are gonna serve them better than their current level of perspectives and, and beliefs.

And that's a really broad way of saying that. Um, but it's unique to everyone and everyone has their own set of perspectives and beliefs, right? So there are some foundational principles that when applied, you'll get x outcome, right? But that can look like a lot of different, um, [00:27:00] specifics on an individual basis on what they're struggling with or what they're dealing with.

And so when I see that, I help to pivot them back to these core . Foundational ideas, um, to get them back into connecting with themselves ultimately. Um, you can describe that in a lot of different ways, but essentially they're, you're reintegrating them back to their highest self in order to achieve the outcome that they want to achieve.

Mm-hmm. , and this really is an integration of the physical and the spiritual. Exactly. I think it's really interesting. And obviously your path is unfolded this way, but the connection between crea, which is literally about energy through the spine, you are physical practice as a chiropractor, , adjusting people's spines and other, you know, um, we could go deep, we won't do it here, but conversations about the spine itself and the spines.

role in [00:28:00] spiritual ascension and all these sorts of things that most people are not even remotely aware of. Sure. Um, so yeah, I just think that's really interesting. I also resonated a little bit, um, men's health magazines and fitness was also important in my life, but not for the same reasons. , um, they were part of my sexual awakening, not my not working out.

they served you in some way? Yeah, in some way. Uh, my brother was really into fitness when he was a teenager, and that's anyway. That's another story for another day, but also important in my journey for another reason. Nice, nice. Well, I wanna ask you a question. Do you think that you are living your purpose right now?

I, I do. I think that my purpose ultimately is to

serve people. Um, and bring them to their highest truth and, and to, for myself, understand the highest truth in, in, in all areas. So what I mean by that is [00:29:00] anytime I am looking at a particular topic, whether that's health, fitness, nutrition, um, the world in its variety of ways, I've always been a seeker of truth.

I've always wanted to get to the bottom. Of that. So what is the capital T truth of all of this at the, at the foundational core level. And that's been a, a kind of a guiding light, uh, for me. And so when I, I feel like what I'm doing with chiropractic, what I'm doing with my business, working with clients, um, helping them transform their bodies and their minds, um, is getting them back to the capital T truths.

which are what, get people to have real transformations. Mm-hmm. and I, to back up a little bit, um, my clients don't often know this is what I'm doing. Mm-hmm. ? Yes, . So I would say more often than not, they aren't aware of these spiritual teachings [00:30:00] or we aren't going into specifics about meditation or yoga or energy in the spine.

None of that is very rarely brought up. Um, , but the way that I go about it is gonna be different for everyone based upon meeting them where they are and how I articulate, articulate that is going to be different. So yeah, they're probably not unaware, but these are the, the depths which we are going into.

Yeah. And you're speaking to of a, a theme or a motif or something that's loud for me, which is this idea and truth that your consciousness creates your body. Mm-hmm. so you a soul. A consciousness created a body. You're in the body, right? This is your physical vessel. And as we carry around trauma, limiting beliefs, blah, blah, blah, conditioning, all these things, um, it affects the physical body.

I mean, physical things can, like drinking alcohol and terrible food and blah blah, that can affect you. But yeah, so too [00:31:00] can fear and anxiety and worry for sure. And all these things, you know, anger manifests as cancers in the body. Um, You know, and so this is the work, and I've understood this and practiced it with the work that I do with Q H H T, which a lot of people may come into this thinking, oh, let's play around with the past life.

But the truth is, um, sometimes what you discover is, oh, wow, that physical symptom or this chronic illness, or this chronic pain that I have is actually because I haven't forgiven my mother. Mm-hmm. like, damn . Yeah. Or I have this cancer because, I don't feel like I can speak my truth. Mm-hmm. to someone. This is a very different way of thinking about Right.

Our existence. But it is yet again this theme of physical and the non-physical, the body and our spirit. Right? Yeah. And they really are one in the same. And so science and, and medicine, uh, and spirituality, these are really the marrying of these worlds because [00:32:00] our existence is both so much to say on that.

I mean, we. The western world typically only, um, believes in what it sees, right? And so we are so much physical, physically, physically, uh, physical, conscious minded. Um, and yet I think most, if not all of your listeners, and I would say with my experience, more and more people as a whole in general, would resonate with the idea that we are spiritual beings first, having a human experience, right?

Uh, so if we actually believe that in our hearts, which I most certainly do, then we are spiritual beings first, physical beings second, and this is a temporary experience. And the emotions that we have has energy, you know, whether it's fear or joy on anything in between. And that energy, if it's the energy has to go somewhere.[00:33:00]

And if it's continuously a low vibration energy, that fear is gonna get trapped because you're gonna now have a repeating pattern in your life where this is a lesson that you need to learn. And if it doesn't get learned, it's gonna be repeated and that energy is gonna get stay stuck and stagnant. And how that manifests, I'm not an expert on, I can't say it's gonna manifest in this or that, but it, it's gonna manifest in some way, shape, or form until you learn.

Learn that lesson, I believe. Um, and going inward is a process of unlocking that energy and allowing that to be expressed and experienced in some way that, um, will be fruitful for you and that, you know, is different and looks different for everyone. But getting back to it, I mean, this is, this is a big reason why we have meditation is to help to process these negative emotions, to move the energy.

Um, and to, [00:34:00] uh, be less reactive and to literally change and rewire the nervous system so that it begins to be more and more upgraded so that you can have a more expanded, um, consciousness and expanded way of living that brings about more peace, joy, and harmony. And I can truly say that the older I get, the longer I'm practicing, and the deeper my practice goes, the more peace, joy, harmony.

Um, even when life isn't looking great on the outside mm-hmm. , it's like there's, you can always rest into that level of peace that you have. You're like, I'm an infinite being that will never cease to exist. What, what is this little road bump? You know, it's pretty much meaningless and I'm not always, there's certain things that, you know, you'll get caught up and we're all human, right?

I'm not perfect by any means, but the older I get, again, the more that I practice and the deeper that I go, . More peace is always behind those experiences. [00:35:00] So what do you think then prevents people from well either experiencing that, but prevents people from living their purpose? Hmm. I think fear would be the number one, uh, thing that prevents people from living their purpose.

Um, and that can come in a variety of ways. It could be fear of being seen, it could be fear of judgment, fear of, um, . It's their own potential. Um, and I think maybe those three are kind of maybe the biggest ones. And I've certainly experienced this too, and, and still work with some of these myself being, you know, by nature I would rather be in a cave than on social media marketing, my fitness business.

Yeah. Um, I got you. I know this , but I, but I mean, that's the truth. And, but you know, I have . Gifts and I have, um, a purpose to serve and that is [00:36:00] much bigger than my reasons to not do it, to cow away from it, right? And so, you know, I've found that business is a direct vehicle for your own self expansion. And the more you lean into that, um, and lean into your growing edges, the more people you're gonna be able to serve.

and the more you know, evolved and, and the more, um, the more you're gonna expand as a person. And so, you know, there's certainly moments where I'll rub up against, oh yeah, I really don't want to do that, but whenever I do, you know, I move to the next level, so to speak. And, and, um, and it's just you, you, you feel that more and more sense of confidence and expansion of yourself, which then creates momentum and is another source of

Joy, peace and happiness in your life? Yeah. I think I do say this quite a bit to people. I think, uh, if you're looking to be an entrepreneur, I wanted to say a conscious entrepreneur, [00:37:00] one that is doing something that knows it's in alignment with a purpose. Right. Not just somebody that's looking to make money.

Yeah. For the sake of making money and getting rich, but someone who knows. Okay. This is a mission or something that I need to do in the world and share in the world. If this is something that your soul is calling you to do as a conscious entrepreneur, and then my goodness, if you're actually supporting people spiritually, it's like an even mm-hmm.

more intense version of this. But I say this is some of the greatest catalyst to come back to that word of your own spiritual growth. Yeah. Because in order to even serve others, you have to be, you have to have gone through it yourself. Uh, in order to show up in the world, in order to, uh, be successful in business, you're constantly gonna be tested.

Yeah. Against your own edges, as you said. So, um, yeah. Afraid of showing up in the world. Good luck with your marketing. Yeah. Right? That gets pushed. Uh, financial issues, you don't think you're worthy. Well, you're gonna see that in your money [00:38:00] stuff. Mm-hmm. . Oh, you don't think you're a good leader? Like, watch what happens when you have a team.

Right. These are, I think that. Being an entrepreneur and a conscious entrepreneur is such an amazing experience of spiritual growth. Um, it has certainly been one of my biggest catalysts for change, and it wasn't even something that I really consciously thought about when I decided to, in 2020, I've been a chiropractor for 12 years.

Um, in 2020, uh, I decided to start, you know, my fitness business. And, uh, I remember making, writing up my post and having my finger just like . Hover nervously over the, over the push button, the send button or the post button I should say. But I did it and it was, I had no idea the kind of ride I was in for.

Um, and didn't fully recognize that this in and of itself, itself is a spiritual practice, if you look at it that way. Um, a practice of self expansion. Uh, but I quickly realized, [00:39:00] oh yeah, this really is, and uh, I feel like that. Was, um, it is continues to be a, a vehicle of growth for me, for sure. Yeah. So what do you think it means to live with purpose?

To live with intention, it means to live with intention and to take time to go within, to evaluate what that looks like for you at on. At the same time, I think that no matter where you are, How conscious or unconscious you are of the per of a person you may be. Um, you are on purpose and you do have a purpose.

How conscious you are of the specifics and how conscious you are that's gonna, that's gonna change. I think you're what you're able to do with your life. Mm-hmm. . Um, but we all have value. We all offer the world something. Um, and we are all doing the best [00:40:00] we can with the level of consciousness that we currently have, both in a whole lifetime and in this moment.

And the more intentional we are with our own self discovery and our own self evolution, I think that purpose becomes more and more refined,

But there is a different depth to your experience of life, right? Your connection to others, your connection to divine, all of these things when you are playing an active role, right? In wanting to know why you're here, because it's really the magic of life. There is a reason why you're here, . Yeah. And if you, um, if you wanna engage with that, then life would be made more fulfilling.

Yeah. I believe. Exactly. That's been my experience too. Um, and it's always been a sole yearning of mine to really want to know my purpose. And I mean, that may not be true for, for everyone, um, but it seems to [00:41:00] be the case, the more conscious and intentional and more interested in spirituality that you become.

Yeah, well certainly for my listeners, that's gonna resonate because you wouldn't be listening to this podcast if you didn't want to understand and live and align and question your beingness with your purpose.

Right. Um, but I think it's so powerful in sharing these stories, uh, to help people realize that, look, it's not about the crazy successful entrepreneur. It's not about the, we have plenty of those stories. It's about actually taking the moment, the time. To reflect on your journey and to reflect on how things have already evolved for you, um, and then perhaps make some conscious efforts.

Uh, To continue to live your path in a conscious way. That's, that's it. So I totally appreciate you sharing your perspectives on your journey. I know that my listeners will as well.
