Episode Transcript:

Jennifer: [00:00:00] But I'm having the sneaking suspicion. That maybe while my spirit or soul is in this body on this earth, that it will keep changing every few years.

welcome to the Path and Purpose Podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Cameron Martin.

I'm a spiritual coach and self-realization teacher with a passion for the sacred work of self-discovery. I'm the founder of Path and Purpose where I help spiritually awakening humans, light workers, old souls, and conscious leaders to discover their soul's purpose.

My entire life has been a journey of deep spiritual discovery. You could call me an eternal student of the universe, and although it's tempting to buy into limiting stories about ourselves, my journey has taught me that it takes courage to embody who we truly are. I'm on this planet to empower people to discover their soul's purpose so that they can [00:01:00] live fully aligned with their higher self and experience the life that they were meant to live with.

Clarity, passion, and fulfillment. Let me ask you, are you on a journey of self-discovery and know that there's something deeper calling you, something more for you that's beyond where you are currently? , do you wanna know with certainty what your soul is here to do? Well, I've created this podcast to give inspiration and insights so that the path to living your soul's purpose is less of a mystery and more of a discovery.

So if you're on your spiritual journey and you're craving the true peace and bliss that is your divine nature, my intention is that you'll be inspired by today's episode.

A key to living our soul's purpose is knowing when we're in an out of [00:02:00] alignment. Now you might hear this and think, Hmm. What does alignment truly mean? When we are in alignment with our higher self, when we're in alignment with our soul, when we're in alignment with the creator, we feel a certain way.

We feel good. We feel ease. We feel bliss. We feel states of joy. We feel a sense of calmness when we are in alignment, things happen easily for us, signs and synchronicities. We pick up on easily.

When we're out of alignment, life is messy. It feels like we have to push or shove or try to make things happen. This is where we make mistakes. This is where relationships go wrong.

When we're out of alignment, it's like, no matter what we do our life, isn't exactly going the way we want. And I really invite you today to consider what does alignment feel like for you and what does being out of alignment feel like for you? I know for [00:03:00] myself that when I'm feeling stressed, anxious, tight inside, then I'm out of alignment. My higher self is saying, Hey, yo, camp.

We're not thinking the same way, relax or, you know, whatever. When I'm in alignment, I feel ease. I feel fun. I feel joy. And so I really invite you to consider for yourself what are the signs within your own body when you're in alignment with your higher self? How do you know when you're following the messages that you're being given and you're doing a pretty good job at it. How do you know when you're not.

Really learning to cultivate an awareness of ourselves to know what it feels like when we're aligned and what it feels like when we're misaligned helps us to actually more consciously follow our soul's journey. Today's conversation will explore this idea a bit further.

Cameron: On this episode, I am here with Dr. Jennifer Mullen, a good friend of mine. So excited to have [00:04:00] you on the podcast today. Jennifer Mullen is educated as a clinical psychologist and is the founder of Decolonizing Therapy, where she teaches her politicizing Your Practice series. Dr. Jennifer Mullen is the author of a forthcoming book, decolonizing Therapy.

Oppression, historical trauma and politicizing your practice. And she's a dynamic and highly sought after international speaker. She's also an organizational consultant, teacher course creator, community builder, and decolonized mental health movement starter. So welcome Dr.

Jennifer: Moen. Thank you Cameron, so much for having me. It is such an honor to be here with you.

Cameron: I'm excited to have you as well. , can you share with the audience just a little bit about the work that you do?

Jennifer: In a nutshell, I believe that the work that I do is one of. An ancestral like excavator. Um, I believe that part of my path has been to [00:05:00] help people begin to look at the ways, those of us that are not already awoken to those ways, perhaps. Um, the ways in which current mainstream therapy and mental health, although super useful in many places and spaces and necessary this day and age.

Um, There needs to be an evolution, one in which we are having a personal internal evolution that can lead to a revolution of love, of light, of more empowerment and more using and looking at some of our ancestral awarenesses. So I think that the work that I do is one excavator, you know, um, looking at some of the places and spaces that could sometimes hurt, um, not to get stuck in the past, but rather, instead to get curious.

And to understand how this impacts us today, how it impacts our relationships with each other, how it impacts, um, the ways that we're cut off from our sensitivity spirituality, or ways of knowing [00:06:00] and how this disconnects us from all of our bodies as well. Hmm, yeah. So that's a little bit about what I do.

Cameron: A little bit. So the whole idea then is really about understanding the influence of, well, colonial influences, I suppose, on therapy. Yeah. Yeah. And be able to see therapy in a new light. Mm-hmm.

Jennifer: Yeah. And but also to evolve, I think, the paradigm of mental health so that it's really workable for all people at all levels and accessibility levels.

Um, And in a way in which all big emotions are also honored and valued and not discarded emotions like grief, emotions like rage, emotions, like whatever we call anxiety to be right. That these things have sort of been like put in boxes and made, uh, made people are often made to feel like they're problems to be solved rather than messengers to sort of, ah, okay.

I'm [00:07:00] curious about this. What might this be about? Yeah. So it's like sort of looking at these colonial ways of how we've been indoctrinated and realizing that none of us really, um, Win or growth while we're still under this foggy sort of, uh, perspective of coloniality.

Cameron: Yeah. And how might we also see right.

Uh, emotions, rage, happiness, sadness, whatever. Yeah. As. Part of a spiritual connection to our psyches, not this like divorced minds from our, our beings. So anyway, love it. And I love the work that you do. We have had more than a few conversations that were like super high vibe. Yes,

Jennifer: I would agree.

Cameron: Talking about all the spiritual things.

So today's conversation is really, uh, is about the spiritual connection cuz that's who I be. I know that's who you be also. Um, but we're really talking about. Living your purpose. And so, [00:08:00] um, I guess I wanna back up or start with what marked the beginning of your spiritual journey. Perhaps it was connected to your work, perhaps it wasn't, but what was the beginning of your journey for you?

Jennifer: Yeah, I mean, I, I love this question and I, um, always struggle with it because, um, If you have my mother tell it, if you have my mom tell it. Um, I was seeing things with a capital S um, my entire life. So I'll give you a very quick snippet. Example, um, kindergarten class, and my teacher is getting a little agitated and yelling at some of my classmates.

I could always handle it myself. I didn't like when my classmates were being. Bullied and mm-hmm. Um, the teacher was like sending them to the principal's office. This is kindergarten and I don't have really any recollection of this as, which, as often happens when, um, spirit works through me, like very seldom can remember what I said or what I [00:09:00] was doing.

Um, but I said to the teacher who I loved, Stop yelling at them like that you're just angry because your husband is cheating on you. Yeah. Right.

Cameron: And you 6, 5, 6 or

Jennifer: seven, I would imagine. And um, six. Yeah. Six. And the thing is, there's no social media, there's no Facebook. I think when I was in six, you know, six years old, I don't even think that there was like a beeper or you know, no.

You know, we were using payphone, so there's not like I could get that information. So she sent me to the principal's office because it turns out that that was in fact happening, and she was freaked out because she did not understand how I knew that. And so these kind of instances happened. A lot where I was saying things to my parents, um, it was so truthful and so raw that it caused [00:10:00] a lot of upset at times.

And then I got sent to like NYU's Child Center. So they, they literally held up cards and like, what is on the other side of this? Like, something out of a movie. Like, they literally assessed me. Um, I was drawing auras all the time on people. Like I couldn't just draw my family there would be like color.

Emanating from each person differently at different rates. So, um, I wished it away, you know, I wished it away because I had some experiences that were, were scary for me as a kid. And then at around, I would say, um, beginning of my college experience, uh, I started meeting people in the oddest places and spaces.

That would invite me places. Right. Um, so I, I can think of being in like a research methods class of all places and I, I was always drawn to crystals and I was always drawn to mysticism and always drawn to other ways of knowing. And I remember, um, [00:11:00] I had a crystal in my hand. I think it was like basic one-on-one like rose quartz.

Like, and not, not that I'm sleeping on the energy of rose quartz, but it was like, you know, it was just like what I was getting into because I knew I needed to love myself despite my deficiencies in mathematics. And I had it in my hand and it slipped out of my hand and went rolling down the, the, we had like this long desk, we were all taking this test.

And I hear and I'm like, what? And I look down and this woman smiles and opens up her hand. And she had like some kind of courts or something in her hand and she's like, let's talk. Right? And um, her name was Miranda and she ended up, um, saying, I don't know how I ended up in this class. She's telling me.

And she invited me to these shamanic circles. So instead of partying in my early twenties, I started cleaning up my act myself in a good friend. And we started going to these like swanky fifth Avenue shaman circles before I understood what a shaman journey was. [00:12:00] You know? Mm-hmm. Um, and so I would say that that was the beginning because I was probably doing a lot of the things that people do in their early twenties, in New York City, which is just partying it up, um, getting into things I shouldn't.

Um, and probably being around a lot of energy that was consistently draining me and making me feel less than, and like moving me off of my soul's path, I would say. Yeah, I think that that was the beginning of my journey. That along with group therapy in its own form, um, in a peer education group that I joined in undergrad.

Um, I think that the connection to therapy and mental health and regaining my sense of purpose through mental health allowed me to get closer to source than my ancestors. Hmm.

Cameron: So you talked about like remaining on your path and not sometimes. So how do you know when you're not on your path or how have you known when you're like, mm-hmm.

This isn't my

Jennifer: path? Yeah, it's a beautiful [00:13:00] question. Um, and I think it's when I so frequently ask myself every time I'm going through another upgrade, download, both at the same time, evolution, awakening, um, I'm like, wait, I know I'm not on it. But then I, I laugh and I say no, I'm always, at this time, I feel like the answer to your question is, this is gonna sound really odd, but hear me out that I'm always on my path, right?

I'm always exactly where I need to be, and I don't say this in a like, woo woo, not grounded way. I say this in that if I'm feeling super distracted, When my mind is bouncing around, even despite doing grounding exercises, clearing my energy, doing all the feel good things I know for my energetic spiritual hygiene when I still cannot get tasked done, or there's a lot of blips in my time [00:14:00] management or my technology.

That's how I know that I'm out of alignment, but that out of alignment ness. Allows me to take inventory to give myself a lot more compassion and to ask myself what is happening or who or what is in my orbit, um, or what project am I contributing to. That is not for my highest alignment right now. Like what is my energy dream, essentially?

Right? Um, or is it that perhaps I need to rest or perhaps I need to not do things for others right now, or perhaps I need more cuddles, or perhaps I need more grounding food or more time in nature, you know? Um, or perhaps I need to go dancing or do Zumba or, or, you know. So it's sort of like I'm always in alignment, I think, at this place and space and my time.

I feel that. My relationship with my guides spirit, ancestors, I believe that they're in alignment with [00:15:00] me and I win them with them. But I think that the humanity of it, the 3d, the humanness, right? I don't know if I'm, I'm getting this across right, but it's not the spirit room that has me thrown off. It's more.

The energetics of what's going on in the collective can throw me off. And so, um, I'm still always figuring that out. I'm always figuring out how to not absorb, how to not accidentally transmute other people's energies. Um, because it come, it's a very natural inclination for me.

Cameron: Yeah. I really like the distinction between, you know, being on your path, which is sort of this, um, self-evident.

Truth, if you will, that I am on my path always, but. That and energetic alignment, right? So where you are today, you're always standing. We'll say it that in a place that is correct cuz it's [00:16:00] based on all the choices that you've made and you know what's laid out before you. But are you in alignment with what you truly want?

Are you in alignment with what your soul truly desires? Are you in alignment with what your higher self and source wants for you? And that's more of an energetic thing as I hear you speak about it. Does this feel correct for me to be doing right now or whatever? And, um, I think listeners are also gonna probably resonate with the idea that like maybe spiritually things feel like good or whatnot, but the physical parts of life, like buying groceries, being successful, well, I don't know, sending an email at work By success, doing the things, interacting with other people can be something that can maybe set us off a little bit too. So, Yes. I love that. But that distinction I think is key. So really thank you for that. Yeah. You've talked about it a few times, or at least in certain ways, and you even at six, you were talking about [00:17:00] being, uh, I forget the phrase you used, but aligned to source, uh, working with What does it feel like for you to know when you're in alignment when you're connected to source?

I mean, my goodness, the six year old girl who's telling her her kindergarten t-shirt that you know, Your husband's cheating on you, whatever. Um, that's, that's coming from something else or somewhere else. So can you describe what does that feel like? What is the experience for you when you are aligned to source, as you say, or your higher self?

Jennifer: Yeah, thanks for asking. I feel like it also, having these conversations are so refreshing. Like for me it's like taking off another layer of like masking, um, that often my field. My field has required, sorry, I'm putting that out there. That's another layer of this will decolonizing therapy. It's like, be so nice to just show up as like the very curious, eccentric aliens that we are.

Uh, but I would say that alignment, um, [00:18:00] Or when this channel or this energy, um, flows through me, um, it feels like flow. And I've heard many different esoteric knowledges philosophies.

Teachers speak about, give it all different types of words. But for me, what it most feels like is that my body gets really still and sort of. Stiff and um, like my back becomes like a board and it's like something in me. It's like, do do do do, do, do. I suddenly like hone in on something and oddly enough, not oddly I take that back. Interestingly enough, uniquely to me enough perhaps to others listening. Um, there's usually something that is an injustice of some sort. That immediately aligns me. It's almost like I can be over here hearing, talking, doing this, and something pulls me and I'm like, wait, [00:19:00] what? Um, and it's not out of anger.

It's not out of, well, I'm gonna show you. It's more like, oh, no, no, no, no. Let me help you readjust. That's not true. That's simply not true. Um, and so in that way, I believe that. That was often misunderstood as a child. I think for many of us, it, you know, especially I had like no filter. I was just like a very, you know, mercury and Leo kind of energy.

You know, mercury rules my chart and you know, this camera, you know, I just sort of talk and then I think, and then I'm like, oh, maybe I shouldn't have said that. So for me it's more there's the brain shuts down and. It almost feels as that I'm in alignment with another kind of close friend that I've never quite been able to turn to see, you know, um, And I lovingly give no poops.

[00:20:00] Right? Um, me, you know what I was wanted to say, fuck, but I dunno if I know that right? Like, but it's with love and, and I don't know how else to explain this incredible amount of, like, it makes me emotional, deep love that I can feel to who I'm talking to. Like deep love, deep compassion, and. Like, know my child.

That's not true, right? Like, let me help you understand what it is. Um, and it doesn't feel like it's from ego because like I said, it may not even be, I might surprise myself about what's coming through, or it might be like, wow, I just learned something. Or, wow, I can apply this to myself too. I do that as well, right?

It's usually a learning moment. Um, but it also involves me caring about whatever's happening in front of me enough. To say that this is gonna, if I don't say this, or it doesn't come through me in this way, a, this person may not hear this and that might affect their life, right? [00:21:00] Or they might not go on to do this important thing that they need to do, or B, they will go on to harm themselves or others in horrible ways and or see, um, for some reason, Because of maybe, um, my ancestral connections or what's going on in the world, this needs to be said for who Jennifer Mullen is at this day and time.

Right? Like in some way that it's good for my ego training in some way or like it's good, you know, it's good for me to not always be the people pleaser or the faw or they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, we're deep inside. I might have a very strong opinion about something. And so, um, usually it comes through, to be honest with you, with me saying, Tell me, I can tell you anything, or can I say something or can I offer something?

And one of my teachers says that to me often. Like, tell me I can tell you anything. And I'm like, please go ahead Dr. Lee. You know, you can tell me anything. He's like, but just tell me that I can tell you anything. And I'm like, okay. Got it. He's about to channel invite. Yes, it's an invite, right? [00:22:00] Rather than a blah.

This is what it is. And when I was younger, I didn't know how to be invited. Right, and, and likely no one was really inviting children for their opinion. In my, I was raised, you know, not your opinion, like 1980. I was born in 78, so like, you know, early eighties, like children should not be seen or heard kind of energy.

Um, but in my creativity or if I was like acting or dancing, then I was invited in to speak and be loud. And so I think that I sometimes still use those ways. Even like seeing Instagram or YouTube or any of those, I see it as like art. You know, I see it as like being able to be creative and be able to let some parts of my personality out while speaking a truth that is a truth.

Maybe it's not the truth, it's not the only truth, but it's certainly a truth that impacts me and maybe other people that can identify with [00:23:00] some aspect of my identity.

Cameron: Yeah. Well I really love that and thank you for sharing the whole, like your experience or a common experience with source. Right.

Alignment is speaking that truth. I also, the paradox of my life, like I have a PhD in leadership studies, but I detest, um, Authority at all. And I know that you do too, cuz we've talked about this quite a bit. But, um, it's really interesting to hear how alignment feels for each of us. Uh, when you're talking about like being with the friend next to you that you can't quite see, you know, for me, I always get tingles.

It's like I'm my crown in the back of my head or whatever, and then I get these knowings that just shoot through my body and I might speak it, I might not, but I get like the, I know this. That's my experience. But others can experience their intuition and alignment in very [00:24:00] different ways. Um, for you though, it does seem like this.

Wait a second, I gotta say something is how you know this and you did even as a child. Um, yeah. So, yeah, that's really cool.

Jennifer: Thanks for that. Yeah. And if I may, if I can say something, um, You know, I, I, I think that this is important and, and again, this is just bringing it back to this, like sometimes people here where it's like decolonizing and they're like, oh gosh, everyone's saying this.

And it's like, no, actually, um, ethics is so misunderstood. Like, one of the things that I was so intent on undoing and helping to bring back to some of our original ways of storytelling in any of our cultures where we like sat around fires and told stories and. We're honest with each other and chewed medicine or whatever.

However, our people all over the globe found ways to bring healing in community, um, as a like very UR Western trained therapist, right? Where I would notice it come up and actually it was my, my beloved students and some of my [00:25:00] clients that would say, you're not just speaking from here, you're speaking from up there.

And I like it in their own ways. They would find ways to say, uhoh, Jen's on one right now, or Dr. Jen's on it. Wait, wait, wait. Don't, don't cut her off because she's just, just wait your turn, she's gonna get to you in a second. And like it, I suppose on these retreats with my students, and especially on the beach, we would do meditations and this is how it started for me.

So I guess I'm also going back to like two of your questions. As an adult where things would start to elevate, I'd be on the beach with a group of students that I'd worked with for many years and that there was a lot of trust and what have you. And in this meditation I would just start seeing things clearly, but not seeing, like knowing.

So you saying the knowing really brought that up for me with a, and I would say I just know this with a capital K and sometimes I would hear a grandmother. Somebody I would hear, sometimes I would hear someone speaking another language behind me and somehow I would [00:26:00] understand it. And they were talking about that person and they were like, they need to wear something green around their waist.

They need to wear a faha, they need to wear da, da, da, da. And they would give me all this information. And I realized that being in nature grounded, truly like tethered into nature with individuals, that there was trust between me and them, and. Honing in on my own ancestral guides or my high. And I, when I say my ancestral guides, like my highest elevated ones always, cause not all are, um, that is when I would just be able to know.

And I felt like that's when things started to come into alignment. So I think I would love to see those that are known as space holders or coaches or therapists, you know, um, crisis workers. I would love to continue to see us. Bring in our knowing with a capital K and our seeing with a capital S into these spaces so that those that we're helping and serving [00:27:00] can remember that, um, that we're tethered and guided also by their loved ones, right?

Even if it's loved ones, they can't grasp or they don't know or they've never heard of, you know?

Cameron: Yeah. How do you, what would you say to someone who's, who would like to trust their knowing more or another way of saying it, trust their intuition. Um, or you know, for listeners, maybe spiritual guidance. Right.

What would you recommend somebody do to begin, cuz it really is a relationship, something you've gotta cultivate. What would you

Jennifer: suggest? I would invite them to a. First check in with their intuition. And, and I know this sounds so basic, but always ask like, is ego or is this the source, the spirit? This is, you know, first have that quick internal, like I have like a three step question thing that I always ask myself, and it's sort of like, is, is this, is this mine or is this somebody else's?

Right. Is it, is it, I think this is, we all have our own range of this and [00:28:00] sometimes it happens in a five second window, you know, but also, Is this person ready to hear this? Are they in a place ready to hear this? Do we sense this? And usually, I don't know about yourself, but even other people that I've worked with, they say that their body either goes cold or hot.

You know, like, like there's usually like a barometer letting us know whether somebody is ready to experience. And I have found even my body feels light.

Cameron: Yes, it feels light. I dunno about temperature, so I might have to pay attention, but I feel light. I

Jennifer: feel heat. You know, I start sweating a little bit.

Mm-hmm. You know, literally, but like, I'm like, wait, menopause, what is it? Like, you know, but like literally I start sweating and sometimes it is a hot flash, but, and so I have to check in with myself. But, but for example, I was working with someone who was an E M T and often would be there. They said more than any other person, this is like really a true story.

They, I remember them saying to me [00:29:00] more than any other person on their unit, They would be there when people were passing. Yeah. And that they would witness. And so people would say that they were like, bad luck. And one of the reasons they came to me is because their rage and their anger was really throbbing and it was the, the mask and the disguises weren't working anymore.

And they were like, what? So as, what is this about? And so as we were working this through, I said, Hmm, it sounds like you're a guide. It sounds like, you know, like you're meant to be there when some of these individuals are ready to pass your witness, and they got really emotional and they were like, witness people have said this to me before that I'm here to witness.

Right. I'm here to witness and perhaps just give that nod that it's going to be okay and let them pass and let them take that last breath, or maybe be the last person they lock eyes with and just give them a lot of love and a lot of ease no matter what they've done or why they're dying. I just, they were [00:30:00] saying this and I remember saying to myself, Hmm.

I said, so what happens with the people around them? Right. Um, and what she said, which I thought was really, really interesting is that, um, you know, I just allow myself to be with. Right. I allow myself to be with the moment and I allow myself to be with the person and their spirit, and then I don't feel anger, I don't feel frustration, and I just know that it's okay to say whatever it is I need to say.

Um, yeah, so I don't, I felt like it was important to tell that story. Dunno why, but it felt relevant to this. Yeah. That was beautiful.

Cameron: Yeah. So do you think that you're living your purpose?

Jennifer: I am so inclined. I feel like this changes every couple of years for me. I want to say yes, but something is a skew lately [00:31:00] that, um, so I, I feel like there's a whole other level that I'm being prepared for that I haven't yet quite touched, if that makes any sense.

Um, feeling like I've outgrown something yet again. There's like a nostalgia, like a melancholy, you know, like things are good and yet I'm not quite like, uh, if I'm feeling exhausted a lot.

If I'm feeling, um, dragging my heels, doing some things the way that I might need to do them for the purpose of the work or the business. Um, if the flow feels like it's consistently being sort of stopped, right, or the abundance, and I don't just mean financial, I mean like it could be lots of different forms of abundance as well as if I feel as though there's a part of me that isn't getting to show up [00:32:00] fully.

Right? Mm-hmm. And so I think that's what's happening currently is there's a part of me that isn't, um, that I'm not fully accessing. Yeah. So, um, yeah. And I feel like it's happening again, like it happens every few years. So I do think I'm living my purpose and I think a lot of people would say, oh, you're here, you're in it.

But I'm having the sneaking suspicion. That maybe while my spirit or soul is in this body on this earth, that it will keep changing every few years.

Cameron: But it's interesting, and I'm sure listeners will resonate with this too, is like, Am I living my purpose? Yes. And right. Like, yeah, I am doing what I'm supposed to do, but it's not even about that I'm being who I'm supposed to be, but there's more. There's something else, right? It's like, yes. Yes. And uh, and I know [00:33:00] for me, I've experienced that a lot.

And even sometimes it can be a daily experience if I guess I'm doing exactly what I am here to do and what else? But I love, um, Just that you shared some of the indicators, right? Feeling a little melancholy or a little nostalgic or a little, like something's ending and something's about to begin and I'm not really sure.

And that void space can be really uncomfortable. I mean, my goodness, I've spent a ton of time there, but, um, I think that's really, I appreciate it. I think it's very nuanced. I think that's gonna resonate with a lot of listeners about like, well, yeah, life is good or, yeah, I am doing what I'm supposed to do.

And, and, yeah. You know, like, not like, but I didn't mess it up. It's not like, oh my God, my life's a mess. Just like there's something else, there's another layer, there's another level. There's something like I'm being prepared for that I can't quite see or grasp or touch. Um, So, yeah, I really [00:34:00] just appreciate you sharing that.

Yeah. Cause I think that that is very, it's something I resonate with of course, and I think it's something many of my clients and probably a lot of our listeners will be resonating

Jennifer: with as well. Yeah. And, and it's funny, I think that it's, um, it's so nuanced and sometimes if I stay in that feeling for too long, I could start to think, oh, am I being negative?

Am I being ungrateful? Am I not allowing myself to fully feel. That. Wow. Look how far I've come or look how long I've been doing this. And isn't it great to have ideas that I had that I felt like nobody was hearing that I was like shouting into like this chamber suddenly, like there are a number of people that are identifying who feel according to their words, some liberation from any something that I do or say or teach.

Um, And yes, that feels nice, but I wonder if, when, when we're on this sort of evolutionary psychospiritual path, if [00:35:00] I find that the more I heal, the more like normal human accolades or you know, I don't know if I, if I am cited somewhere or my book is coming out, you know, all of these are great. But there's still like, I'm missing something and I, and usually I just say, I'm like a missing home and I don't even know what home always is with a capital H.

You know, it just more and more, it just feels like it's something so esoteric or thic something so big. And that is always there with me, but it always leaves me longing. There's always like a longing and not longing for like just, I wanna be better, I wanna make more money. I wanna, cuz that's, some of that human stuff definitely pops in.

But beyond all that is also like, huh, how do I show up more authentically in the work that I'm doing?

Cameron: Would [00:36:00] you say that that longing then is. A longing to live with purpose or to live more with purpose. You know, for me, I hear about it. I think about it like my soul came in. It's got, it's got, I have a mission period, and like that drives everything that I do.

So I'm wondering if it feels like that for you, that longing or whatever is really just the pull of your purpose. Yeah.

Jennifer: The pull of your mission. Yes. And I think that my purpose, um, the way it works for me is, um, and this could be frustrating to me, my team, it's frustrating to anyone in human thinking body.

Um, it gets revealed to me step by step. And so, um, I, I admire individuals who can like, plan out and like, think in advance, but. That does not, every time I do that, that does not seem to be, I end up putting like time and money and effort, um, into things that then shift [00:37:00] course and then it's like, oh wait, that's not needed anymore.

Not, not, you know, so there's some planning of course, you know, if you push, if you have business of any sort. But generally speaking, I realized that I must. Take a step, even though I don't know where it leads and like fully step onto that step in line, let it light up, and then fully commit and take another step and then fully commit and take another step even though it's all invisible.

Um, but I have to remember that there is a plan there that I am meant for very clear mission, right? And, and some part of me is already doing it, but there's something. More that is there and, and I suppose every time maybe I step up to the mission or I step up to task, I step up to task. I believe that something else is, um, awaiting in the backend.

Yeah. Hmm.

Cameron: So beautiful. [00:38:00] Um, Yeah, I think that's where I wanna leave it. Cause I, that just encompasses such a beautiful message. And also thank you for really sharing with us, uh, not only your gifts, your spiritual gifts. Um, but for me, I'm really present to the experience of what it means to be living the path to our purpose.

Um, knowing that there's more, knowing that we're in a state of evolution. Right. And I think really, um, Embodying this whole idea of what it means to live with purpose. You know, sometimes we might not really know, but we're gonna take that step anyway towards the invisible. And, um, yeah, for me there was so much resonance in this conversation, but I am certain for listeners as well, um, to know that yeah, you can be on your path and not know what the next step is.

You can be on your path and. [00:39:00] Still, uh, have work to do with your purpose and it really comes back to alignment. Um, and so thank you so much for being with me today. I've

Jennifer: enjoyed this conversation. Thank you so much. And, uh, thank you for being such a seeker of people's truths and their soul path. I appreciate it.

My mission on this planet is to support spiritually awakening humans in discovering their soul's purpose. And I know that if you're listening to this episode, discovering your purpose matters to you too. And I also know that sometimes it can feel like the spiritual journey is never ending, and that our purpose is some far off thing, but there's no need to waste precious time living without clarity and alignment.

Living with purpose can start right now. So if you're struggling to figure out what your purpose is, and as a result you're feeling frustrated, uncertain, or maybe even a little lost, then I invite you to stop spinning [00:40:00] your wheels. Life is way too precious and you are too important. I've created an easy way for you to recenter and reconnect with your path.

I've created a sole purpose illumination session for people who are driven to know their soul's purpose. So if this is you, I invite you to book a session.

You can find the link to book this session with me in the show notes.

I'm grateful to share this episode and time with you, my listeners. And I want you to know that our time together does not have to end here. I've also created an online community where spiritually awakening people can receive my support and guidance and connect with others as they discover their own unique paths to living their soul's purpose.

Look for the link in the show notes to learn more about the path and purpose, community support, connection, and inspiration for your journey. It's all inside.
