Reflections for 2019 (#1)

To say that I have been on a journey in 2019 would be both a completely accurate statement and a gross understatement at the same time. This year has been the single most transformative year of my life and I want to spend the rest of the year sharing it with you…my community. Frankly, I don’t really know what I will end up writing about but I know I am meant to share my thoughts, so I will post to my blog every day for the rest of 2019. My commitment is also to post a final reflection for the year on December 31 with all of the lessons I have learned and an account of my journey. It is my hope that this as this work emerges, it will inspire you during this holiday season and into the new decade to build a life that you love for yourself.

This will serve as my first post.

In the midst of the holiday season, energies are running high. Personally, I have been traveling…a lot! Last week I was in Jamaica with my family and this week I am in Hawaii. While I am super grateful for the opportunity to travel the way I am, admittedly, I am faced with my own challenges of staying centered. It is easy for me to neglect my responsibilities, my health routines, and my meditative practices, especially because I’m not even home.

With so many demands on our time (shopping, family visits, work ramping up, school semesters ending), it is easy to lose your way. For many, it is easy to allow yourself to be pulled in so many directions that you no longer feel centered. I invite you to carve out a little quiet time each day for yourself and be intentional to find your balance throughout the chaos. For me, I will be spending time writing and in meditation to help me stay grounded.

During your quiet time, consider the following questions: How do people experience me? How do I want them to experience me? How do I experience myself?

This holiday season, consider an important gift. Consider giving the gift of yourself to yourself.

See you tomorrow,

Cam
