Discover Your Purpose: The October Full Moon in Aries
Full moons are events that mark significant points during Nature’s cycles. During a full moon, the Sun and the Moon are positioned directly opposite each other in the sky. The Sun represents masculine energy, characterized by logic and “doing.” The Moon represents the feminine; our “being” or “receiving” side. These energies challenge us to reflect on where in your life you might be relying too heavily on logic and where you might need to open up to your intuition to receive. Because it is a time of opposition, it is a time for integrating energies; a time of challenge and a time of growth. Each full moon brings us opportunities if we face the challenges presented to us to help us become our best self.
Full moons bring us the energy of release, clearing the way for us to manifest anything in our lives. Aries is the energy of new beginnings. The full moon on October 13, 2019, known as the Full Hunter’s Moon (occurs after the Harvest Moon closest to the autumnal equinox), is in the sign of Aries. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries reminds us that we are beginning a journey—a journey called life. In order to walk the path that is ours, we must accept and surrender to the internal and external adversity in our lives. Everything in our lives manifests for a reason and is part of the greater lessons our souls need. Our challenges help us to realize our full potential and purpose in life, whether we like them or not. The Aries full moon inspires us to release that which blocks us from pursuing our inner purpose.
Finding our purpose in life is not always easy. In fact, part of your life’s purpose is finding it. Letting go of anything that blocks you and prevents you from taking the first steps on your path is key to this lunar moment. Spend time to identify the thoughts, stories, feelings, and limiting beliefs which weigh you down. These barriers can come from either your inner our outer world. Whatever your shadows are, they are yours to discover during this Aries full moon. Release them and begin the journey that is only yours to make. Set intentions and goals without attachment to outcomes. When you manifest from a deeper internal source, you will be surprised at just what will emerge in your life.
In the midst of Libra season, the Aries full moon reminds us of our concepts of self and our unions in relationships with others. Libra, where the Sun is currently positioned, rules the seventh house of partnerships and marriage. Aries, on the opposite side of the zodiac wheel, rules the first house of self. During this full moon, we are dealing primarily with how we merge the self with others. It is an opportunity to find peace within allowing us to make healthier choices for both ourselves and our relationships.
There are a few important aspects (astrological planetary placements), unique to this full moon that will influence how we will experience it. These aspects are unique to this Aries full moon and will not be experienced again in your lifetime. Pluto, currently in Capricorn forms a square with the Sun and the Moon. Squares occur when planets are 90° apart, causing tension and challenging energies. Pluto is the planet of transformation. This full moon will shine a light on the dark corners of our inner pain and wounds helping us to evolve and grow. Much of the work of this full moon is about conquering inner demons and Pluto will help to bring them out of the shadows so they can be transformed. Issues around relationships could likely surface.
During this full moon, Jupiter, the planet of expansion, luck, and abundance, will be 120° away from the moon (trine aspect) and 60° away from the sun (sextile aspect). Both of these are beneficial aspects that will bring optimism to this astrological event. It will also help us expand our relationships, reminding us that the best partnerships help us grow by giving us new perspectives.
Now is a time to pause and be open to understand your personal mission in this world. It is also a time to find purpose for our individual and collective journeys. Know that you don’t walk your journey alone. Remember that you can lean on others for support and that you are already whole and complete. Allow others to support you on your path. Take a leap of faith with yourself. Begin your creation of something new. Be open to the possibility of who you could be.
With love,
Cam
