In 2018, I had my first astrology reading and it changed my life forever. At that time, my life felt like a spinning cyclone, and I was pretty desperate for some direction. Relationships, work, school…it was all a mess because my life had changed so quickly and, frankly, I was feeling pretty lost in the whirlwind of my own spiritual crisis. I was asking myself “What is my purpose?” and I had a feeling in my stomach that something should be different. Sound familiar? And although I didn’t know it at the time, I now know that an astrology reading is a perfect way to bring clarity to your spiritual journey

I distinctly remember the experience of my first astrology reading. During my session with an astrologer, I felt that, for the first time in my life, I was seen. Someone was able to see me. The real me. My soul. My essence. And they were able to validate and support me in the major life changes I was moving through. In no way did I feel restricted by the reading, or put into a box that now I had to fall in line with. Instead, it was direction that resonated naturally with what I had been thinking and questioning internally. And now it was out in the open – something I was discussing with another individual and it would be the start of holding myself more accountable to living my purpose.

My astrologer helped to bring to my conscious awareness many things that I was having a hard time dealing with. She also told me that in a few years’ time, I would be doing these readings myself. Although I didn’t believe her at the time (in fact, I pretty much dismissed her), look at me now! I’m sharing the wisdom of astrology with others professionally, even though I never expected to. Much to my surprise, I even wrote my doctoral dissertation on the subject (see link below)!

So, why do people have astrology readings?

Today, people book astrology readings with me for many reasons. Some people are fans of astrology, and they want to learn more. They have a general understanding of how an astrology reading would benefit them and I provide additional clarity to their life experiences. Others  are committed to their own self-discovery, and they want to explore tools that can help them develop their self-awareness. An astrology reading can offer context to help you make changes in your life so that you can live more aligned with your soul’s purpose.

Most people, however, come to me when they are in times of transition. As human beings, we all seek to understand the meaning of different events in our life and these people and this is a very common reason why people book an astrology reading.

However, there are other reasons why people seek the help of a professional astrologer.

1. An astrology reading to discover themselves. Astrology is the most useful tool I have ever had to discover myself. It is exceptional at providing perspective on an individual’s personal development and life purpose. It can help you figure out why you are the way you are. It can help you understand your personality, consider new perspectives on yourself, and even help you learn to accept your most authentic self. The clarity this provides allows you to better focus your life on what’s most important to your soul. It’s incredible what can transpire in your life when you let go of the pressure to be something the world told you to be and instead live a life, work a profession, be a partner, and be a friend in a way that is true to your higher self.

2. An astrology reading to navigate interpersonal relationships. Astrology is very helpful for understanding the dynamics playing out between people. We all have our different triggers and motivations that can either move the relationship forward or present an obstacle to overcome. Astrology can help you to explore your personal depths and even facilitate shadow work healing and connect you to your inner child. 4. An astrology reading to make sense of change. Most people find astrology when they are going through change. Honestly, it’s what drives a lot of my clients to initially reach out to work with me. Astrology is especially powerful for helping people understand the seasons of life they are in. It is helpful to get a “heads up” about what’s coming so that you can move through it consciously and take advantage of the opportunities afforded to you. Astrology helps to put you in the driver’s seat of your life rather than letting you play the victim to circumstance.
